Looking for a fun, easy and educational event for your cub group?

CompuConsult is offering a free 1 hour program for Cub groups in the Calgary area, to teach your group about computers. René Sloos, president of CompuConsult and a Microsoft Certified Trainer uses his skills to teach the kids about the fundamentals of computers. This program fulfills the requirements for the Cubs Computer Badge. We will even supply the certificates and badges!

The following is an overview of our program:

What is a computer?
What kind of devices does a computer have?
Picture match exercise
What’s inside a computer?
What’s the difference between a floppy disk and a hard disk?
How are computers used in business?
How are computers used in education?
How are computers used in entertainment?
Let’s create a Web page!
Are computers stupid or smart?

We need a “classroom” setup with tables and chairs for the participants. We will bring a projector, a screen, speakers and a computer controlled stage light for the demonstrations. Please give us a list of names before the event to prepare the certificates.

For more information please call us to book this event. (403) 206-2233.

Thank you for taking the time to help our Cubs earn their computer badge. What a great program! Not only is it educational, informative and hands on (loved getting to hold the insides of a computer) but fun too. The kids (and leaders) all went home a little wiser and for the Cubs a little prouder. Having you come to us gave the Cubs the opportunity to really shine and the leaders the opportunity to sit back and let them do so. Thanks again.

René has a real passion for computers and he has used this passion to create a unique presentation tailored to the requirements for the Cub Computer Badge. René made material that would otherwise seem boring to kids, come alive by using matching games and hands on displays to teach the parts of the computer. He had kids jumping out of their seats to answer questions about music mixing and computer graphics. In my son’s opinion, the best part of the presentation was when René programmed a holographic image to change shape, color and move around the room. René kept 25 kids and 7 leaders mesmerized for an hour with his presentation, and he made the Computer Badge a memorable experience for our Pack. I would highly recommend having René come into your meeting and we will definitely use René again in the future.
